A ROAD was blocked after a van collided with scaffolding.
Buses were unable to pass as police attend the scene in Southover Street, Brighton.
The AA warned drivers that the street was "partially blocked".
A spokesman for the company said: "The road is partially blocked due to a police incident in Southover Street between Washington Street and Grove Street.
"Traffic is coping well."
Bus company Compass Travel also warned passengers of disruption to its services as a result of the incident.
At 2.30pm a spokesman said: "Service 37B in Brighton is currently delayed due to a police incident in Southover Street."
Shortly after 4pm it was reported that the road has now been cleared.
In a statement on the incident, Sussex Police confirmed that officers attended the scene after a van collided with scaffolding.
A spokeswoman for the force said: "Police were called at 1.44pm on Friday to reports of a van colliding with scaffolding on Southover Street, Brighton.
"No injuries were reported. The matter has been passed on to the scaffolding company."
