A GROUP of youths have apologised for “spooking” animals after a calf died.
Police were called over the incident in Cuckfield, where the youngsters were spoken to.
Inspector Darren Taylor said the group had all written personal letters of apology to the farmer for the distress caused.
He said the apology was accepted and said: “The young adults involved have been spoken to and have personally written to the farmer apologising for spooking their animals.”
“A thank you to the rural crime team who supported the team around the sad death of a calf in Cuckfield.”
