A DRUG dealer was caught trading on the street by police on patrol.
Kleris Bregasi was spotted by officers in Eastbourne town centre.
When they stopped the unemployed 23-year-old, they found two bags of white powder and £420 in cash.
He was arrested on suspicion possessing class A and B drugs with intent to supply.
But his bigger secret was found when police later searched his home in Bolsover Road.
It revealed he had cocaine and cannabis worth a street value of £20,000 ready to sell, and £2,500 in cash.
At Lewes Crown Court this month Bregasi admitted the charges, and was jailed for three years and nine months.
After the case Inspector Rachel Barrow said: “All the officers involved in this case worked hard to catch Bregasi, and to gather and present comprehensive evidence to the court.
“As a result, a man responsible for dealing harmful drugs in our community has been taken off the streets, and a large quantity of drugs have been seized.”
Inspector Barrow reassured residents in Eastbourne that the force is working to tackle the town’s drug-dealing problems and catch the criminals, and encouraged residents to report drug-dealing and criminality to the force.
