A group of people is needed to make sure the town’s neighbourhood plan ‘has real impact’ in guiding development.
The Bridport Area Neighbourhood Plan was agreed by Dorset Council in May and the final version is available from bridport-tc.gov.uk.
A spokesman said: “We are now moving onto the implementation, monitoring and review stage for the neighbourhood plan and a call is going out for community volunteers interested in making sure that the neighbourhood plan has real impact in guiding development in and around Bridport.
“The community steering group will work with the parish and town councils to undertake defined pieces of research and survey work as well as contribute to planning policy.
“We are keen to hear from people with knowledge and experience in the following subjects - climate change, housing, economy, transport, community facilities, landscape and heritage.”
A person specification is available setting out the roles and responsibilities for the community steering group and how to apply can be found at bridport-tc.go.uk/projects/neighbourhood-plan
Up to nine members to form the steering group and to attend at least four meetings a week, with periods of more intense activity. The deadline is July 25, 2020 and to find out more, email david.dixon@bridport-tc.gov.uk
