ANGRY parents and children staged a second protest after a council blocked school plans to reopen to more pupils.

Kingslea and Heron Way primary schools in Horsham had planned to reopen to Years 2 to 5 yesterday.

But on Thursday West Sussex County Council objected to the plans, forcing the schools to scrap the idea or face legal action.

Yesterday protesters campaigned in Horsham town centre against the move, days after a previous protest on Friday.

A protest spokeswoman said:”We are asking the Department for Education urgently issues clear guidance to allow our headteachers to get all our children back to school before the end of term, where viable.”

A county council spokesman said the schools had gone against Government advice by announcing plans without consulting the council.
