A THUG deliberately broke a restraining order imposed after he assaulted a woman.
Matthew Douglas, above, was ordered to have no contact with the victim of two assaults. But the unemployed 42-year-old went to her property in Bexhill in breach of strict rules to stay away.
Douglas, of Glynde Avenue, Eastbourne admitted the breach at Brighton Magistrates’ Court.
Magistrates Nigel Peacock noted it was a “deliberate breach of the restraining order”. He jailed Douglas for six months.
After the case, police said: “Douglas clearly paid no attention to two very clear court decisions and continued to be in contact with one of his victims. His victim is now safe from further abuse by him.”
