KATIE Price has given concerned fans an update on son Harvey’s health.

The 18-year-old was taken ill on Monday while celebrating his sister Princess’s 13th birthday and was seen being carried away by paramedics.

Addressing her followers on her YouTube channel yesterday, former glamour model Katie said it was reported that Harvey had been “rushed to hospital” but she had actually called the ambulance after becoming concerned for his health.

The Argus:

Harvey suffers from an underactive thyroid and diabetes, as well as Prader-Willi Syndrome.

This is a rare genetic condition with symptoms including an excessive appetite, weight gain, learning difficulties and weak muscles.

Katie said he had “complex needs” and had been “complaining of chest pain”.

The mother of five asked him how it felt and he told her it was “like needles”.

Katie said: “Straight away I was like, because of his complex needs, do I call the doctor or do I call the ambulance, because I don’t like it when people waste ambulance time – a lot of people do that.

The Argus:

“But generally Harvey is at high risk anyway at the moment because of coronavirus, he’s at high risk because of the obesity and the steroids he is on, his medical conditions.

“So, I did call 999.”

She relayed his symptoms to healthcare staff over the phone and an ambulance was sent to the house.

Brighton-born Katie said: “They put all this stuff on his chest, they did an ECG (electrocardiogram), he had his blood done, temperature taken.

“His temperature was fine, the ECG all came up fine, his heart rate came up fine.

“The problem was, when they pushed down on his chest, they said it was quite a muscular thing.

The Argus:

“Some people can pull a muscle falling asleep or working out, but in Harvey’s situation, clearly he doesn’t work out and clearly he doesn’t do anything strenuous because he has got obesity. But they (doctors) said also, if you push down here (on his chest) and it hurts, it can sometimes be a blood clot. So, just for safety, they took him to hospital and he had chest X-rays and all of that, and they think he has just got a chest infection coming.”

She said he had been able to return home, and filmed the video with a slumbering Harvey lying on a sofa in the background.

The family are currently living in a rented house after putting their Horsham mansion up for sale.

Towards the end of the clip, after Katie told him she was glad he was home, he told her “I feel good” and admitted he had been a bit cheeky during his trip in the ambulance.

After Katie asked what he had said to the “ambulance men” on his journey to the hospital, Harvey revealed he had been very flattering.

“I said ‘you look gorgeous’,” he said, before telling his mum he loved her and his chest felt better.

Katie said: “Clearly, Harvey is in full spirits as normal.

“He is fine and is not experiencing any chest pains now, so that’ll clear up, if there are any, rumours going around about Harvey. We are home safe and sound.”
