TWO boys were arrested after a car crashed into a row of parked vehicles in the hours.

Officers spotted the silver BMW being badly driven along Bear Road in Brighton shortly before 3pm yesterday.

A 13-year-old and a 14-year-old have now been arrested in connection with offences including aggravated vehicle taking and possession of an offensive weapon.

When they spotted the BMW officers signalled for the car to pull over, but their requests were ignored and they lost sight of the vehicle.

Shortly afterwards, they rediscovered the BMW in The Avenue, a short drive away, where it had rammed into several parked cars.

But the driver was nowhere to be seen.

An investigation followed, and police have now detained two teenagers in connection with the incident.

A 14-year-old boy from Brighton was arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking and vehicle damage of less than £5,000.

A 13-year-old boy from Brighton was arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle dangerously, aggravated vehicle taking and vehicle damage of less than £5,000, using a motor vehicle on a road without third party insurance, driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, failing to stop when directed by police and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Both have been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
