AN INVESTIGATION is underway after a suspected “chemical incident” at a flat.

Emergency services were sent to Ambrose Place in Worthing yesterday evening.

The area was cordoned off for hours while a man was treated.

Neighbours reported seeing the fire service, ambulance service, and police at the scene.

A man was taken to hospital after suffering an “adverse reaction” to an as yet unknown substance.

The police said: “We responded to an incident at a flat in Ambrose Place in Worthing  yesterday evening.
