THREE great spots for a summer holiday in Sussex have been shown in a national newspaper guide.

The Times put together a list of the top 50 spots for a “staycation” getaway this summer.

It comes as the tourism industry seeks to bounce back from the lockdown, and most of the top ten places to visit were in the South West, with Cornwall, Dorset and Devon featuring prominently.

But the national newspaper listed three great places to visit in Sussex.

At 41 on the list was the town of East Grinstead, which boasts the Ashdown Forest nearby, known as “home” to Winnie the Pooh bear.

At 42 of the list was the village of Barcombe and The Secret Campsite, where visitors can enjoy the River Ouse and the town of Lewes nearby.
