PEOPLE described hearing a "huge bang" as a car crashed in a residential road.

A hatchback was left on the pavement after the collision in Braybon Avenue, Patcham, Brighton, shortly after 2pm.

A passerby said: "I heard this huge crash and banging, and could see a little car facing the wrong way on the pavement.

"It looked nasty. People were coming out of their houses to see what happened.

"The driver was sitting in the car with the door open and lots of people quickly gathered around them to make sure they were alright."

A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: "This was a two vehicle collision in Greenfield Crescent, Brighton, at 2.10pm. No one was injured."
