POLICE are appealing for information about a wheelchair accessible van as part of a murder investigation.

Disability campaigner Jackie Hoadley was found with serious injuries at her home in Eastbourne on Sunday afternoon. She later died from her injuries.

An hour later a 62-year-old man was arrested at Chailey Heritage Foundation, 25 miles away, on suspicion of her murder. He remains in custody.

Now Sussex Police are appealing for information about a silver Renault van in the hours leading up to Jackie Hoadley’s death.

The Argus:

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Wolstenholme from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team said: “We are particularly interested to establish the movements of a distinctive silver grey Renault Master wheelchair accessible vehicle with a nearside opening side door and blacked-out windows on the sides and rear.

"If you have any CCTV or dashcam footage from Eastbourne during the period from 11pm on Saturday to 2am on Sunday we would like to hear from you and request a copy. The areas we are interested in are particularly around Shinewater and the seafront.”
