POLICE have brought in specialist search and rescue teams as they step up their search for a missing 60-year-old man.

Milton Andrla told family he was on his way to the doctor but did not show up for his appointment in Crawley last month.

Now expert search and rescue teams, including search dogs, are scouring an area to find any sign of him.

A police drone is also being in the operation.

Mr Andrla went missing on Monday, June 15, at about 10am. He was believed to have taken a rucksack with him which may have contained a sleeping bag.

Police are urging people to check sheds or outbuildings in case he has sought refuge there.

Detective Sergeant Alan Fenn from the West Sussex Missing Persons team, said: “We’ve arranged for specialist search and rescue teams to assist in our search for Milton, who has been missing for almost a month now.

“His family are desperately worried about him and we’re urging anyone who sees him or has urgent information about him to dial 999, quoting serial 701 of 15/06.

“Milton, if you are reading this, please get in touch to let us know you are safe.”

Mr Andrla is white with grey hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing khaki cargo shorts with a khaki T-shirt and black trainers.

He also has links to Ramsgate in Kent.
