A HORSE rider was flown to hospital after suffering injuries when they fell from their horse.
The Air Ambulance was called to West Wittering beach shortly after 10am today.
Crews were joined by Selsey Coastguard Rescue Team at the scene.
A Coastguard spokesman said: "Our team was paged to assist the Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex after a casualty had been reported injured, after falling from their horse.
"The casualty was taken to St Richard's Hospital in Chichester by air.
"The team was then stood down to return to the station."
The team also issued a message to people using beaches during the lockdown.
The spokesman said: "The coast and the sea can catch you out whether you’re local or not.
"Our message remains, call 999 Coastguard if you’re in trouble.
"Please help us and our families stay safe. Be aware of the risks, keep your distance."
