Disability Pride went ahead at the weekend... but on TV screens only.

The country’s first festival of its kind is now in its fourth year. But the annual parade and celebrations had to be cancelled because of coronavirus.

Instead, Brighton’s Disability Pride asked performers to submit clips of themselves in action and turned them into 2.5-hour TV extravaganza.

It features entertainers who are disabled or have at least one member of their band who is disabled.

The talent on show included Daniel Wakeford, from Channel 4’s Undateables, Sam Hughes’ Elton John Tribute, The AutistiX, Lioness, The Speak, Havva and Cracklin’ Griffins.

Also taking part is Ren Gill, from Brighton, who was discovered by Sony while busking in Brighton, but dropped from his record deal after he was diagnosed with Lyme disease.

The show can be seen online at thelatest.co.uk here.

Latest TV is on Freeview.
