AN elderly man has been taken to hospital after being run over on Hove Lawns.
The Hove pensioner in his early eighties was run over at slow speed by a delivery driver on Brunswick Lawns at 12.33pm.
The South East Coast Ambulance service said the patient was treated at the scene before being taken to the Royal Sussex Country Hospital for treatment.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Emergency services went to a grass area at Brunswick Lawns at 12.33pm Hove man in his early eighties had sustained leg injuries, having been accidentally run over by a car which was driving off at a slow speed after the driver had made a delivery to an adjacent cafe.
“At the scene the man’s injuries have not initially been assessed as major or life-changing but he has been taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital for detailed assessment and treatment.
“The incident is being treated as accidental and no further police enquiries are being made. The driver and injured man exchanged details at the scene.”
