POLICE have arrested a driver after a crash on the A338 at Fordingbridge.
Officers were reportedly called to the scene of the collision just after midnight.
The driver claimed not to know how a car came to leave the road, according to police.
In a statement on social media, Hants Roads Policing said: "Our guess is the positive drug and alcohol readings contributed."
The driver was then arrested.

Officers also urged other motorists that "it is not worth the risk".
The car had been recovered and moved off the scene by 1.13am today.
