A 14-YEAR-OLD boy suffered head injuries and a concussion in a violent late-night assault at a park.
The youngster was at Lyons Farm recreation ground in Worthing when he was attacked between 11pm and midnight yesterday.
He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries but has since been released.
Three teenagers, two aged 16 and one aged 14, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and a 16-year-old girl has been detained on suspicion of assault by beating, attempt to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and handling stolen goods.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and affray.
The three, all from Worthing, remained in custody this afternoon.
Sussex Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the assault to come forward as officers try to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack.
