In your report about the proposed restoration of the seafront Bandstand (The Argus, November 19), you state that it "has been derelict for 30 years", but my records show that I played a Sunday afternoon gig with my old band (Harry Strutter's Hot Rhythm Orchestra) just under 21 years ago on August 17, 1986.
I remember that the bandstand was looking pretty shabby then, and ours may have been one of the last concerts to take place on it, but it was certainly in use that day, and we had a good audience too.
