My family took part in the London to Brighton veteran car run on November 4. We broke down outside the house at the foot of Clayton Hill, opposite the railway tunnel.
We would like to say a big thank you to the gentleman who lent us his welder, to the gentleman who drove us to the welder, and to the family at the house for their kind hospitality and for all the moral support that we received during our stop.
We managed to reach Madeira Drive without any further problems, which we could not have done without the generosity of these kind people.
Unfortunately, we did not manage to take any names or addresses so I hope they will read this note of gratitude in The Argus.
Thank you, and hope we see you next year.
