A JUNIOR school is raising money for a new adventure play area.
The Windmills Junior School in Hassocks
needs to build a new playground as the underground supports on its current timber play area were found to be rotten.
The school has benefited from a £1,000 donation to put towards a “ninja” style adventure course, including a circuit track, climbing frame and a scramble tunnel.
The donation was made by housebuilder Barratt Southern Counties, as part of their community fund.
Leila Murray, headteacher at the school, said: “We are very excited to have received such a generous donation from Barratt Homes, which will go a long way to helping us reach our final target.
“Our school places a great emphasis on the physical and psychological benefits of having an outdoor area to play.
“We hope that the brand new ninja course will be enjoyed for many years to come.”
