A THUG left a police officer gasping for air in a choke hold.
Matthew Greenaway was taken into custody at Crowhurst Road, Brighton in February.
There he attacked two police officers. In one assault where he inflicted actual bodily harm.
Brighton Magistrates’ Court heard how there was a “prolonged period of strangulation” that led to an officer’s injuries.
The officer was left “unable to breathe”.
Greenaway, 35, of no fixed address, admitted both attacks.
District Judge Tessa Szagun imposed a six-month suspended prison sentence.
She ordered Greenaway to complete 20 rehabilitation sessions.
