A HOSPITAL worker who was stabbed has spoken out to praise his colleagues.
George Joseph, 56, was attacked inside the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton on Sunday last week.
During the incident, armed police shut down the entire hospital site and had to sweep through each department.
A man was arrested in Wilson Avenue nearby on Sunday
Mr Joseph, of Whitehawk, suffered five stab wounds, and was treated before being discharged.
He said: “I would like to thank everyone for their concern and the many kind messages of support I have received following the incident.
“I would also like to thank all my colleagues at the Royal Sussex County Hospital who looked after me so well. I am now recovering at home with my family.”
Last week, Connolly Mellon appeared in court accused of attempted murder.
The 30-year-old, of Waterloo Street, Hove, will appear at Lewes Crown Court on August 17.
