A THUG chased a lone woman at night and tried to force his way into her home.
Douglas Cawsey damaged a door at the property in Ventnor Villas, Hove.
The 33-year-old assaulted a woman inside who was in fear, a court heard.
Cawsey denied two assault charges and criminal damage but was found guilty at Brighton Magistrates’ Court.
The court heard how terrifying the attack was for the victim, and also heard how Cawsey attempted to headbutt a police officer.
It was revealed all the incidents had happened on May 11 this year.
The offence involved “following a young woman at night and using violence to gain entry to her property”.
He knew the victim was inside and in fear, the court heard.
Cawsey, of St Aubyns, Hove, caused £500 worth of damage to a door belonging to Brighton and Hove City Council.
He was jailed for six months over the attacks.
