A MAN has been arrested and charged after concerns were raised for a woman in a car.
A passerby contacted police after seeing the vehicle in Chesham Street, Brighton, on Saturday afternoon.
Officers investigated and traced the number plate of the car to Brighton Marina shortly afterwards, finding the woman safe and alone inside.
A man was arrested in connection with the incident on Sunday.
Benjamin Samuels of Paulet Road in Lambeth, London, has been arrested and charged with assault.
The 39-year-old was remanded in custody to appear before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
The case was sent for trial at Lewes Crown Court on August. 24.
The defendant was released on conditional bail until that date.
