Suspected gunman arrested near city centre Pictures: Eddie Mitchell
A SUSPECTED gunman has been arrested near the city centre.
Armed officers arrested the man in Belgrave Place, Brighton, after reports of a person with a firearm in a nearby street.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “We were called to St George’s Road in the city shortly before 9pm on Thursday evening to reports of a male in possession of a firearm.
“Enquiries led police to Belgrave Place where firearms were deployed.
“A man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and remains in custody.
“We are not looking for anybody else.”
