Halisco

Opening times:

Tuesday - 6pm to 9.30pm

Wednesday and Thursday - 12.30pm to 3.30pm then, 5.30pm to 9.30pm

Friday and Saturday - 12.30pm to 3.30pm then, 5.30pm to 10.30pm

Sunday - 12.30pm to 3.30pm then, 5.30pm to 9.30pm.

Described as a truly authentic Mexican tapas and taco restaurant that serves street food classics as well as sumptuous tapas dishes with modern twists. 

Halisco serves food for all diets including gluten free and vegan options.

Co-owner and Chef, Mo Razavi, said: "We think what makes our food so great is that we're a laid back team and we just want to cook and serve tasty food and banging drinks!"

One customer said: "The owner waited on us and was so helpful with what to choose from the menu and threw in extras for our vegan guest.

"He also made our night by bringing down a good few bottles and deserts on the house. Fantastic atmosphere, lovely owners and the food was fantastic."

Tropical Sushi

Opening times:

Monday to Thursday - 12pm to 3pm then, 5pm to 10pm

Friday and Saturday - 12pm to 10pm

Sunday - 6pm to 10pm

This Japanese sushi restaurant is located on Western Road. 

Originally Tropical Sushi started as a pop up street food vendour on the high street but after a few years, opening the restaurant became a viable option. 

The sushi is a fusion of traditional cuisine blended with a Latin flair.

With raving reviews, one customer said: "The food is amazing - great (warm and cold) inspiring flavours that really get the tastebuds buzzing."

Bayleaf

Opening times:

The Bayleaf can be found on St James Street serving traditional home style South Indian cuisine. 

Their menu provides a wide selection of dishes whilst the restaurant specialises in Tandoori, Khorai and fish dishes. 

With over 350 'excellent' reviews, one customer said: "We have tried many Indian restaurants over the years both in the UK and overseas and this was one of the best."

VIP Pizza, Saltdean

Opening times:

Very Italian Pizza aka VIP Pizza are a family fun business that start in 1845 in Naples.

The restaurant has spanned five generations and many of the ingredients come from their home farm in Naples.

With lots of positive reviews, one customer said: "We went to Naples in September and thought the food was amazing and to now find authentic Neapolitan food at home is fantastic."

There are two branches, one in Saltdean and the other in Brighton town centre at Lustrells Vale. 

Vel South Indian Kitchen and Bar

Already, Vel has climbed the TripAdvisor charts to feature as one of the best takeaways in the city.
