THIS stylish new home by the sea could be yours for the price of a raffle ticket.

The £1.25 million property is in the private Kingston Gorse marine estate near East Preston.

Painter’s Keep is a converted water tower, originally built in 1925.

Owner Peter Pierce has put the four-bedroom property into a prize draw to help raise money for Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice in Angmering and St Barnabas House Hospice in Worthing.

Tickets are £2 each and ten per cent of the gross ticket sales will go to both hospices.

The Argus:

St Barnabas is especially important to Peter, as his father was cared for at the hospice until he died.

Peter has spent a year refurbishing the house and the winner will walk away with a mortgage-free home.

He said: “It was completely refurbished, extended and redecorated over 12 months with new carpets, wooden floors and a brand new kitchen, so it’s in very good condition.

“What could be nicer than a first time buyer winning?

“It’s an incredible site and an unusual property.

“It’s a difficult time for everyone at the moment but someone is going to have their life changed.”

One free entry is permitted per person and there is no limit to the number of tickets one person can buy.

The Argus:

If the minimum number of paid entries is not reached there will be a cash prize based on 80 per cent of net ticket sales and the hospices will receive ten per cent of gross ticket sales, however many are sold.

Stamp duty up to £91,250 is also covered, including second home duty and legal fees up to a maximum of £1,200.

Peter said: “The concept of the prize draw is simple – as long as a certain number of tickets are sold, someone will win the house.

The Argus:

“Tickets are only available for a limited time as I want the winner to be able to move in as soon as possible to make the most of the house, and in turn I can make the donation to the hospices.”

The competition closes on August 31 and Peter said he plans to livestream picking the winner.
