A campaign has been launched to try and reduce car park crime during the festive period.
Operation Detect has been launched by police in Brighton and Hove, National Car Parks Ltd (NCP) and Churchill Square Shopping Centre.
It aims to cut the number of thefts from city car parks during the busy Christmas period.
Trap cars will be deployed across Brighton and Hove in an effort to trap offenders.
Officers are advising shoppers to avoid leaving their possessions in their cars.
NCP staff and police community support officers will patrol the main car parks offering crime prevention tips and identify vulnerable vehicles. Owners will be contacted by post with advice about crime prevention.
