A RESTAURANT has reopened after closing when a customer tested positive for coronavirus.
Bibendum in Eastbourne shut on July 22 when it found a frontline NHS worker who had visited the venue had contracted Covid-19.
The pub and restaurant in Grange Road is now open again. It has undergone a deep clean and said it will continue to implement safety measures as it welcomes diners back.
It said it has been working with Public Health England and Eastbourne council since the customer tested positive. And it added that it has gone to great lengths to keep visitors safe.
The restaurant reassured customers it will maintain stringent safety measures, including steam cleaning, hand sanitiser stations, PPE for staff and a reduced seating capacity to allow for social distancing.
It asked visitors to help the test and trace system by giving their details on arrival and urged them to wash their hands and respect social distancing.
It said it valued the health and safety of the community “far more than the operation of the business”.
