POLICE are hunting for a man after a car was abandoned in an early hours crash.

Residents reported hearing a collision on the B2087 at Dale Hill in Ticehurst shortly after 3am.

Police attended the scene to find a car on its roof, but the driver was nowhere to be found.

But officers have now released an appeal to find Charlie Measor, who they believe was driving the car at the time of the crash.

A Sussex Police spokesman said the force was “very concerned for the welfare” of the 22-year-old, who lives in nearby Flimwell,.

He said: “Indications are that he may have suffered injuries in the incident.

“Anyone who sees him is asked to dial 999 immediately quoting serial 281 of 09/08.”

Sussex Police issued the appeal early this morning.

At 9.45am, the force provided an update.

A spokesman said: "Missing Charlie Measor from Flimwell has been found safe and well."

The force also thanked people for their help in sharing the appeal.
