THOUGH the coronavirus pandemic has kept us inside for a chunk of 2020, summer has been somewhat salvaged by a limited dose of freedom.

So for our July competition we challenged our Argus Camera Club members to submit their best photos of what “free” means to them.

After sifting through dozens of brilliant entries, we decided Dylan Solley’s stunning shot of two deer jumping for joy, above, was the best of the lot.

But as always it was a hard choice to make.

Krisztina Miklos made the most of some striking silhouettes in her photo below.

And Jade Harker’s action shot at the Ouse Valley Viaduct, below, is a reminder of how much fun clambering around Sussex’s countryside can be.

Kevin Long’s shot of Exmoor ponies at Knepp Estate near Horsham, below, crosses the Wild West with the Home Counties.

Meanwhile Michael Westmore’s photo of a lone crow surveying Brighton, below, shows the world is your oyster when you are on high ground.

The theme for August’s competition is “pride”. Whether you are proud of who you are, where you come from, or what you do, we want to see what pride means for you.

On offer is the usual £50 prize. To enter visit facebook.com/cameraclubargus and submit your photo by midnight August 31.
