A BRAVE cyclist will take on a gruelling 115-mile marathon to encourage others to enjoy the Sussex countryside.
Haywards Heath bike enthusiast Eoghan McHugh will ride up and down Firle Beacon near Lewes 70 times on September 21 – the equivalent of riding up Mount Everest.
He hopes to encourage others to get out on their bikes in the South Downs, as well as raising money for environment charity Surfers Against Sewage.
Eoghan wants other riders to join him for a few “sympathy laps” on the day.
“I feel it’s a great opportunity to remind people of the beauty of Sussex and the community we have,” said Eoghan.
