TWO men and a boy have been sentenced for a violent drive-by attack in which they stole a man’s wireless earphones and cash.

The trio, in a yellow Audi, repeatedly drove past the man before stopping nearby, getting out of the car and attacking him.

The assault happened in Holliers Hill, Bexhill, on May 31.

The man had noticed the car drive past him several times before coming to a halt not far from where he was standing.

The three jumped out of the Audi, walked over to him and set upon him.

They rained a volley of punches down on the man in a brutal assault, striking him in the face over and over again.

They then climbed back into the car and drove off.

It was only after they had gone that the man realised £250 in cash and a pair of Apple Air Pods had been taken from him.

After the crime was reported, police stopped a yellow Audi less than an hour later in Bexhill Road, St Leonards.

Three people have now been sentenced in connection with the crime, including a 15-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons.

He pleaded guilty to assault and was issued with a 12-month referral order.

Reece Ripley, of Glovers Lane in Bexhill, also pleaded guilty to assault.

At Lewes Crown Court, the unemployed 20-year-old was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment.

The third attacker, Cameron Skilton, admitted assault and theft.

The 22-year-old labourer, of London Road, Bexhill, also pleaded guilty to offences relating to a separate violent attack in his home town.

It happened on August 18, 2018. A man was robbed while in his car in Sewell Avenue, Bexhill.

Skilton pleaded guilty to robbery, criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

At Lewes Crown Court on August 6, he was sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment for the robbery and one year for possession of an offensive weapon, to run concurrently.

He was given no separate penalty for the criminal damage offence.

For the assault and theft on May 31, Skilton was sentenced to two years and four months, to run concurrently with the robbery sentence.
