POLICE have re-arrested and charged two men in connection with the death of a man.

Daniel Weyman, 32, suffered serious injuries during an incident in Bemont Street, Bognor, in the early hours of September 22 last year.

He was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition but could not be saved and died from his wounds later that day.

Following a months-long investigation by detectives, 40-year-old removals worker Christopher Sheehan was charged with his murder.

The Argus:

Curtis Sheehan, an unemployed 18-year-old, was also charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice in relation to the death of Daniel (picture below).

The pair, who are both from Walberton, have both been remanded in custody and are due to appear by videolink at Brighton Magistrates’ Court.

The charges come following lengthy enquiries by detectives from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team.

The Argus:

Detective chief inspector Gordon Denslow said: “This has been a complex investigation and Daniel’s family have been kept informed of developments throughout.”

No further action will be taken against a 35-year-old woman who was also arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with this matter.

Police are continuing to gather information about the incident, urging anyone who could assist the investigation to contact them online or alternatively by calling 101, and then quoting Operation Fairford.
