A BUDGET airline is expanding its services flying from London Gatwick in a boost for the airport.

Easyjet will offer more flights from the site next year travelling to several summer holiday destinations.

This includes increasing its services to Lanzarote from ten flights a week to twice daily and Athens will now be served by an extra four weekly flights, rising from 13 each week to 17. Flights to Malta will increase by three flights a week and easyJet journeys to Naples will climb from 14 a week to 18 a week, with three flights-a-day on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The Argus:

The airline has also announced additional flights from London Luton airport, though London Gatwick remains its largest base.

Easyjet UK country manager Ali Gayward said: “We are delighted to be adding additional flights for customers thinking about a late summer holiday this year or looking ahead to next year.

The additional flying from both Gatwick and Luton means we can offer more choice and great value fares for our customers.”

The Argus:

A promotional offer will see flights to Lanzarote, Naples, Athens and Malta sold for £24.99 for passengers travelling between October 22 and December 11. These are available to book from today until Monday.

This is the second expansion at Gatwick Airport this week, with Wizz Air UK recently announcing a new one-aircraft base at the site.
