Your piece on Amy Winehouse was in rather poor taste and not nearly as funny as you probably thought it was (The Argus, November 24).

As someone who has dealt with people with addiction problems all my life, I know that the battle with drugs is one of the hardest battles anyone can face in their lifetime.

I understand that Amy Winehouse is thought to be fair game but, as someone who doesn't read the tabloids, I really don't know why you think you have the right to take the mickey out of her in this way.

Perhaps your sparkling wit should be pointed towards a bar which calls itself Rehab at a time when binge-drinking and alcohol-related problems are tearing our society apart.
