THIRTY new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed across Sussex in the past 24 hours.
In Brighton and Hove, seven more people tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number to 870.
The rate of infection in the city is 299.1 per 100,000 people, while the average rate for England is significantly higher, at 513.4.
Nine new cases were reported in East Sussex, where the total number stands at 1,716.
In West Sussex 14 new cases were recorded, bringing the county’s total to 2,953.
Nationally 1,715 new cases were recorded and the UK total stands at 334, 467.
According to data from Public Health England, no coronavirus deaths were recorded in Sussex hospitals.
Across the UK, one person died after having tested positive for the virus in the past 28 days. The total number of UK deaths now stands at 41,499.
Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust has recorded 148 deaths so far, while East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust has reported 100 deaths.
Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust has reported 260, Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust has reported 18 and the Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has reported 113.
