A CONTACT-FREE massage studio which launched earlier this year has won a regional business award.

Pod in Hanningtons Lane, Brighton, has picked up a South of England Prestige Award for Massage and Wellbeing Service of the Year 2020.

The award recognises small and medium-sized businesses that have proved to be the best in their market over the past 12 months.

Pod uses the latest technology in massage chairs so customers can enjoy a relaxing experience which is Covid-secure.

Founder Alex Collinson said: “We’re so thrilled that our innovative approach to wellbeing has been recognised, and we believe Pod is the future of high street wellbeing.

“From first-hand experience working in the corporate world, I struggled to find the time and money to relieve my back pain and stress.

“I created Pod as an affordable and accessible service to help those, like me, who put their health on the backburner.”

Pod is offering a 20-minute full body massage for £20, with nine therapeutic massage programmes to choose from and paired specialised meditation audio.

Alex said the massage pods are “like nothing people have experienced in the UK”.

She said: “The ‘Smart Bodyscan’ function ensures our customers receive a tailored massage each time.

“They’ll enjoy uninterrupted reflexology, whilst the air compression bags promote blood circulation.

“The infrared heated double roller system massages the upper body and neck, while simultaneously massaging the lower lumbar, glutes and hamstrings, meaning a 20-minute massage goes even further.”

The South of England Prestige Award judges praised the massage studio and said: “Pod is the perfect answer to a stressful day at the office creating the ideal post-work wind down.”
