A ROAD was closed after a driver sustained serious injuries when his car left the road and hit a tree.
The A29 Lidsey Road near Bognor was shut for eight hours as police dealt with the aftermath of the early hours collision.
A black Hyundai Coupe struck a tree at about 4.15am.
A black Audi A3 travelling along the A29 then collided with the Hyundai.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "The 33-year-old man driving the Hyundai was taken to St Richards Hospital, Chichester, to be treated for serious but not life threatening injuries.
"The 59-year-old man driving the Audi sustained a minor hand injury."
Police are now seeking witnesses to the collision as officers seek to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
