A controversial planning application to build more than 100 homes on a greenfield site has been rejected by councillors.
Lindfield Parish Council unanimously agreed to oppose plans by Gleeson Homes in a meeting last night.
More than 50 villagers attended the meeting to discuss a proposal to build 120 homes on the Newton Road site, recently earmarked for small scale housing by a Government inspector.
They said local roads were too narrow to accommodate such a large construction project and had been incorrectly presented by the developers.
The application will not be discussed by planners at Mid Sussex District Council until the end of January.
