A MAN appeared in court accused of causing damage to parked cars.

Police responded to incidents of damage to vehicles caused by a key in Portslade.

Now the force says 33-year-old Shouidur Rahman was charged with causing criminal damage after being arrested on Sunday.

He appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody while police continue to appeal for further information.

Superintendent Rachel Swinney said: “”I want to make it clear that we will proactively pursue those who commit criminality and harm in our city.

“We remain committed to working alongside our local communities in order to reduce crime and keep Brighton and Hove a safe place to live and work in”.
