A 101-YEAR-OLD woman says she feels “truly spoilt” after a surprise care home birthday bash.
Celebrations were in full swing at Marriott House and Lodge in Chichester as Molly Hill blew out four – rather than 101 – candles.
Staff had organised a surprise party complete with cake, balloons, flowers and cards.
The home was decorated with banners and everyone took part in an “afternoon of fun-filled activities”.
And, despite the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, Molly even managed to share her special day with loved ones via video call.
She said: ‘I never thought I would reach this age but I have had such a lovely day and feel truly spoilt by everyone.”
Molly has lived through the Second World War, the Queen’s Coronation, and the moon landing.
According to Irene Pudduck, acting general manager of Marriott House and Lodge, she is “a truly remarkable lady”.
Irene said she was delighted to be there for Molly at an “amazing milestone”.
She added: “Molly is such a popular resident who always has an interesting tale to tell, and we look forward to hearing many more in the future.”
