A GLITCH has delayed the publication of the government’s coronavirus figures.
The figures had still not appeared at 6pm on Monday.
A message on the government site said: “Due to an ongoing issue with Microsoft Azure, we are currently unable to update the data. We are monitoring the situation closely and will update the website as soon as the services are restored.”
On Sunday, we reported a further 70 people has tested positive for coronavirus in Sussex since Friday. There were 3,330 new cases in the UK and the total was 368,504.
Nationally, the rate of infection has been growing, and there are fears of a second wave. On Sunday, there had been 24 further cases in Brighton and Hove since Friday, and 962 people had tested positive since the start of the pandemic.
In East Sussex, 15 cases were reported over the weekend and the total stood at 1,846 on Sunday. In West Sussex, 31 new cases were recorded, bringing the county’s figure to 3,177.
No new deaths were recorded in Sussex on Sunday. The national death toll had risen by 14 since Friday, bringing the government’s total to 41,614. Separate ONS figures show 57,400 deaths have been registered where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
