THE number of recorded coronavirus cases in Brighton and Hove increased by 10 over the weekend, official figures show.

Public Health England figures show that 1,019 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Monday (September 21) in Brighton and Hove, up from 1,009 the same time on Friday.

The rate of infection in Brighton and Hove now stands at 350 cases per 100,000 people, far lower than the England average of 611.

Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 12,689 over the period, to 398,625.

The number of recorded coronavirus cases in West Sussex increased by 52.

The rate of infection in West Sussex now stands at 383 cases per 100,000 people, also far lower than the England average of 611.

The number of recorded coronavirus cases in East Sussex increased by 16 over the weekend.

Public Health England figures show that 1,890 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Monday (September 21) in East Sussex, up from 1,874 the same time on Friday.

The rate of infection in East Sussex now stands at 339 cases per 100,000 people, again far lower than the England average of 611.
