A HOTEL worker was attacked during an attempted burglary.
Police were called over the assault at the Preston Park Hotel, Brighton at 4am on Thursday, September 24.
It was claimed a man had tried to steal a cash box then ran off.
Later, there were reports of a man behaving suspiciously in Hartington Road in Brighton, and then a report of an attempted break-in at nearby Varndean Road.
Police say they are treating the incidents as linked.
A suspect was arrested nearby.
Now the force has confirmed a 53-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary with intent to steal and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was bailed while the investigation continues.
