THREE arrests have been made after a car was stolen from a village home.

Police were called at 8.25am on September 15 in Stonedene Close, Forest Row after the home was broken into at about 1.40am.

A car key inside was taken, and then the car. On September 17 it was involved in a crash in Kent after a police chase.

A 16-year-old boy and 20-year-old man from Edenbridge and a 19-year-old from Queenborough were arrested.

The trio were released on bail and given conditions including not to enter Sussex or meet with each other.

The 16-year-old was held on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving, and aggravated vehicle taking as the initial taker. The other two were held on suspicion of the same offences and being carried on for aggravated vehicle taking.

Inspector Jon Gross said: “We have developed close working relationships with colleagues in other forces to tackle cross-border criminality, and the benefit of that is shown here where officers in Kent have been able to identify and stop a car stolen in Sussex.”
