POLICE are hunting for a BMW driver who “deliberately” mowed down a cyclist before driving off.

The cyclist suffered a knee injury after being struck by the hit-and-run motorist.

He was near the Allangate Estate in Rustington and Angmering railway station when the crash happened on September 28 in the morning.

He was hit by a silver BMW 5 or 7 Series with blacked-out windows.

The car had a front grille with red and blue lines that looked like an AC Schnitzer-style grille.

Police say the driver did not stop to check on the 33-year-old cyclist.

Detective Constable Andrea Watts said; “From witness accounts it is clear that the car was deliberately driven at the cyclist and and we want to trace both the car and its driver and any other occupants.
