AN INSTAGRAM account is being investigated after reports that private images of schoolchildren were shared on the site.
The images are believed to be of pupils from several secondary schools in the Crawley area.
Sussex Police are appealing for information relating to the account, which has now been deleted.
A force spokesman said: “Police are investigating a number of reports regarding an Instagram account that is believed to have shared private images and information of students thought to be from a number of secondary school within the Crawley area.
“The Instagram account has been taken down and a police investigation is underway.
“Anyone with information is asked to report online or call 101 quoting 47200171027. Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers online (www.crimestoppers-uk.org) or 0800 555 111.
