TWO pupils at a secondary school have tested positive for Covid-19.
The coronavirus cases were confirmed by Varndean School in Brighton this week.
As a result, 90 pupils have been asked to self-isolate and continue their studies at home.
A spokesman for Varndean School said: "Two separate cases of coronavirus have been confirmed at Varndean School this week.
"The school has worked closely with the Department for Education and Public Health England to determine the right course of action to reduce the spread of the virus and keep the community safe.
"As a result, 90 students have been asked to self-isolate and will be continuing their learning from home.
"The school has written to all parents explaining the steps they need to take and sharing the advice from the public health team."
He said the school would remain open to all other pupils, with bosses continuing to monitor the situation closely and "seek further advice from Public Health England if necessary".
